Privacy policy
What we collect through this website, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
G-LINK Telecom (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a company incorporated in Ghana, with its office at BK23, Accra, Ghana. This policy explains what personal information we collect through glinktel.com (the “Site”), what we do with it, and the rights you have over it.
We are the data controller for that information. We handle it in line with the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and the guidance of the Data Protection Commission.
What we collect
There are only two ways this Site collects anything about you.
Information you send us. When you submit the contact form, a test-drive request or a consultancy enquiry, we receive what you typed: your name, email address, and — depending on the form — your phone number, company name, the category of solution you are interested in, and the message itself. Nothing on this Site requires you to create an account or to give us payment details.
Technical information from your visit. Our web server records ordinary access logs: your IP address, the pages requested, the date and time, and your browser and operating system. When you submit a form we also store the IP address alongside the submission. We use this to keep the Site running, to diagnose faults and to limit automated abuse of the forms.
Cookies
This Site does not set cookies. It carries no advertising trackers, no analytics scripts and no third-party embeds, so there is nothing to opt in or out of. Your language choice is remembered in your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie and is never sent to us. If any of that changes we will update this policy and ask for your consent where the law requires it.
Why we use it
We use what you give us for three things, and nothing else:
- To answer your enquiry and, if it goes further, to prepare a quotation or proposal.
- To provide and support the services you engage us for — governed by whatever agreement we sign with you, not by this policy.
- To keep the Site secure and available, and to stop automated abuse of the forms.
We do not sell your information, we do not rent it, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in a form. If we ever want to send you something you did not ask for, we will ask first.
Who else sees it
We share personal information only with the service providers we need in order to operate, and only to the extent they need it:
- our hosting provider, which operates the server this Site runs on;
- our email provider, which carries the messages the forms generate.
These providers act on our instructions and are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes. Some of them operate servers outside Ghana, which means your information may be transferred abroad; where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure it stays protected to the standard Act 843 requires.
We may also disclose information where we are required to by law, by a court, or by a regulator, or where it is necessary to establish or defend a legal claim.
How long we keep it
Enquiries are kept for as long as there is a live conversation, and then for up to two years in case you come back to us. Records relating to work we actually carried out are kept for as long as we need them for contractual, tax and accounting purposes. Server access logs are kept for a short period and then rotated away. You can ask us to delete your enquiry sooner.
How we keep it safe
The Site is served over HTTPS. Form submissions are delivered to a mailbox that only authorised staff can reach, and access to our systems is limited to the people who need it to do their job. We review our security arrangements regularly.
No system is perfect, and we cannot guarantee that a determined attack, an error or an interception in transit will never happen. What we can commit to is taking it seriously and telling you promptly if something goes wrong that affects you.
Your rights
Under Act 843 you have the right to:
- ask what personal information we hold about you, and get a copy of it;
- have inaccurate or incomplete information corrected;
- ask us to delete information we no longer have a good reason to keep;
- object to how we are using it, or ask us to restrict that use;
- withdraw a consent you gave us, at any time;
- complain to the Data Protection Commission if you think we have got it wrong.
To exercise any of these, email hello@glinktel.com. We will respond within the period the law allows, and we may need to confirm who you are before we act.
Children
This Site is aimed at businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information about children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has sent us something, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other sites
Where we link to a vendor, partner or other third-party website, that site has its own privacy policy and we are not responsible for it. It is worth reading before you hand anything over.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy we will post the new version here and update the date below. Where a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you directly.
